HAT MADDOX
This Almond coloured, sinamay, Maddox hat has a bow made from Abaca.
Labor-intensive production: Abaca fiber is more expensive than synthetic fibers because it requires a labor-intensive production process, and this restricts its application to mass-produced goods and lowers its marketability.
Abacá, Musa textilis, is a species of banana native to the Philippines. The plant grows to 13–22 feet, and averages about 12 feet. The plant, also known as Manila hemp, has great economic importance, being harvested for its fiber, also called Manila hemp, extracted from the leaf-stems.
